Over time, students at the educational institutions from Medias have been distinguished for their outstanding achievements at national and international Olympiads as well as in sports competitions. This shows that in our city, there are new generations with whom we pride ourselves and which will succeed in increasing Medias’ reputation further in different fields. Thus, Medias can be proud, among other outstanding results, with the important achievements of the young people in Medias:
Andreea Dragoman, national table tennis champion, started her way to victory at Romgaz Medias club. She was the world champion at Juniors Double in 2016 and European champion with the team of Romania in the same year.
The athlete Anca Bunea also has a rich track record following the numerous sports competitions she has participated in, both nationally and internationally. Among them is the 3rd place at the European Championships in Portugal with the cross-team in 2010, the 2nd place at the Youth Junior Olympic Festival in Turkey, 2nd place at the International Student Games in the US and the 3,000-meter Silver Medal at the Balcaniade of Athletics.
The students Braga Cristina from the “National School of Gas” Technological High School and Braga Florina from the Gimnazial School no. 5 Mediaş have won 1st place at the Ames Space Settlement Contest 2017, organized by NASA, with the project “Out Behind Earth”, a space settlement locatedon the Earth’s orbit, behind the Sun.
Lorincz Dionisie-Vladut, a student at Stephan Ludwig Roth High School, qualified for the Microsoft Office Specialist 2017 contest finals with a Microsoft Word 2013 application.
Meanwhile, students from Medias and not only have the opportunity to join numerous clubs dedicated to promoting various extracurricular activities such as ballroom dance, dancing, chess, agrobiology, ballet, carting, experimental chemistry, clothing creation, drawing, painting, music and various sports disciplines. Also, in Medias, volunteer activities are greatly promoted, through the program run by the Stephan Ludwig Roth Municipal Library, but also through the volunteering activities carried out constantly through the Medias Local Youth Council.
